The recreational map of the lake upland area in Häme has over 250 km of marked hiking trails, 180 km of equestrian trails, 350 km of bicycle routes and 80 km of routes for canoeing. The map indicates resting sites, fire rings, lean-to shelters, bases, services, riding stables, landing stages, swimming beaches and a variety of other services and sights for visitors. The hiking trails and routes in the lake upland area are marketed with the Häme Lynx Trail (Hämeen Ilvesreitti) logo. Bicycle routes are national bike trails marked with a brown bicycle. A bicycle route map (Fillari GT) in 1:200 000 and a map of Finland in 1:800 000 showing the bicycle routes are also available.
The recreational map of the Häme lake upland area is a terrain map in 1:55,000 complete with contours, including almost as much information as a base map. The map covers an area of about 3,200 square kilometres of magnificent forest area in the Häme lake upland area interspersed with lakes, eskerss and marshland, as well as beautiful cultural heritage landscapes in south-western Häme, starting from the western side of Riihimäki, Hämeenlinna and Forssa.
The recreational map of the Häme lake upland area is published by the Häme Recreation Area Association. It has been published in the series of Karttakeskus Ltd and it is marketed throughout Finland. The map costs 19,50 €. The map is sold at all well-stocked bookshops, petrol stations, kiosks and similar nation-wide outlets selling maps. It is also available at the local surveying office map outlet in Hämeenlinna, at the tourist information info desks in Hämeenlinna, Loppi and Tammela, at Linnatuuli rest area of motorway 3 in Janakkala and in Häme Visitor Centre in Tammela.
