Lammassaari Recreation Area

The recreation area is situated in the bay of Heinu in the southern part of Lake Iso Vanajanselkä, in the area of Hattula and Kalvola municipalities. The area consists of a lush 2-hectare island owned by the municipalities and the state, with half a kilometre of natural beach. The island is accessible by boat, although going ashore in a bigger craft is not recommended because the shore is rocky. There are no marked fairways to the island. Travelling by boat calls for caution. Persons moving on the lake by boat are responsible for their own safety. Especially in the spring the island boasts a multitude of flowers, e.g. wood anemones and yellow anemones. The base has a fire ring; there is also a pier and a hiking trail that goes around the island. The nearest boat launch is in the recreation area of Kalvola municipality on the shores of Lake Vanaja.

The area is owned by Hämeenlinna, Hattula, Janakkala, Kalvola and Hauho as well as the National Board of Forestry.
