The recreation area is situated along the historical Hämeen Härkätie Road in Ruostejärvi and Leppilampi, in the municipality of Tammela. The area covers a fine esker area owned by the municipalities, with about 2.3 kilometres of natural beach with a sandy bottom. There is also a wonderful open sandy beach in the area. The Visitor Centre Häme, the interpretation centre of the nearby National Parks, offers a variety of services and extensive environmental information on Torronsuo marshland. The area has hiking trails, both short ones - Muurahais-polku and Kurjenpolku- and long ones, linking the area with Torronsuo and Liesjärvi National Parks as part of the Häme Lynx Trail, and with Saari Nation Park, the nearby Eerikkilä Sports Institute, and with Räyskälä recreation area in Loppi. There is a swimming beach, a log shelter and a fire ring at the visitors' disposal. There is an info sign in the parking lot with a more detailed map of the area and the services available.
