Vähäniemen ja tohkoon virkistysalue

The recreation area is situated along the marked boat route on the Hauho route in Painonselkä at Lake Iso-Roine, along the road between Hauho and Luopioinen (3.3 km). The area consists of two capes owned by the municipalities: the rocky Vähäniemi covering about 20 hectares on the southern shore of Painonselkä, and the 4-hectare Tohkoonniemi on its northern shore. The areas have about 2 kilometres of shoreline. There are magnificent rocky formations in Vähäniemi, and there is also a natural boat landing there. There are an observation tower in the top of rocky hill. There are two mooring buoys as well as hooks for tying up boats, a fire ring and a compost toilet. There is also a sheltered swimming beach at the base of the cape. There is a hiking trail connecting the tip of the cape with the parking lot. The parking lot also has an info sign with a more detailed map of the area and the services available. There are no services available in Tohkoonniemi at present. The area can be used based on the Finnish concept of Everyman's Right ("jokamiehen oikeus" in Finnish).

The area is owned by Hämeenlinna, Hauho, Hattula, Janakkala, Kalvola, Lammi, Renko Tuulos, Luopioinen and Valkeakoski.
